I always look forward to Camp Loopy, but this year, between school and side projects, making gifts and so many family commitments - I just need to sit this one out. Hard to do. I keep looking at the posts, putting things in my shopping cart, but then hitting the (X) and going to bed.… Continue reading Camp Loopy 2014

Camp Loopy 2013 has ended for me
Yesterday I completed my Camp Loopy 2013 challenge. The Gaia cardigan in Cascade 200 superwash. The price is around $11 a skein, but for the rich colors, I feel it's a reasonable price for wool (not 'yarn'). Sure, I could save a lot of money using craft store acrylics (I call these 'yarn'), but for… Continue reading Camp Loopy 2013 has ended for me
The Gloomy Ulmus
I am a big fan of designs by Kirsten Kapur, and have several patterns, but I didn't enjoy knitting this one. It looks nice, feels nice, but I had several issues and they just seemed to keep coming. I didn't pick colors for this shawl, but for another and they were far gloomier than they… Continue reading The Gloomy Ulmus
Aqua Dolphin Cowl
Pretty yarn and a very nice pattern called My Dolphin Cowl. Love the picot hemmed edge, it's worth the extra work. They scrumptious yarn was Baah! La Jolla, in mystique. I used just under 400 yards, maybe @380.
Camp Loopy – project #2
For challenge #2 I made an everyday sweater, in white. I know, 2 white sweaters in a month? That's absurd - you betchur sweet yarn balls it is. Never again. Now I'm off to find something more colorful!
Camp Loopy Poject #2
Why did I pick a white yarn again? Hmmm.... Hope that's not going to be a problem. The trick may be some colorful stitch markers then. Something to look forward to making my rounds. This project will take place June 27-July 27 and has to be a minimum of 800yds to qualify. I’ll be making… Continue reading Camp Loopy Poject #2
Blue Memory Shawl
As part of Camp Loopy 2012, here is my Project #1. A crocheted shawl and the pattern is Recuerdos de infancia (Childhood Memories?). Easy and quick. I will make another with this pattern at some point. First I made it in Loopy Ewe Solid Series in a baby blue called 'sky'... After much consideration, I… Continue reading Blue Memory Shawl
Mr. Greenjeans Cardigan – Project #3
This was a fun knit and project #3 for Camp Loopy. The requirement for this project was to use 800+ yards, so this was @900. I really enjoyed this pattern (Mr. Greenjeans) and the yarn (Malabrigo Rios in cream and Pimavera). Changed the raglan increases to kfb instead of the yo holes because I think… Continue reading Mr. Greenjeans Cardigan – Project #3
Wood Hollow Mittens (continued)
I finished the Camp Loopy challenge II and since I knit the hat for practice, the mitts knit up in no time. I hope I get to wear them, even if just once, this winter. Last winter we had a few REALLY cold days and nights. Would have been nice to have them then, so… Continue reading Wood Hollow Mittens (continued)
Wood Hollow Mittens – Project #2
Camp Loopy continues and we're about to start Project #2. My yarn arrived today and my receipt says my Trail Guide is Larry. Hope he's a nice guy because I'm not much of a hiker. The Hiya-Hiyas are from MissBabs ebay shop and I love to check there first before buying my needles. She seems… Continue reading Wood Hollow Mittens – Project #2
