Just some pinches of cables in a delicious worsted weight wool. Just 2 skeins of Malabrigo Yarn Rios (dreamy) and this was a great project for flying and waiting around in airports. I forgot how fast worsted weight projects can be!

Quiet time produces so much joy
In the last month I've made quite a few things. I was overwhelmed with work drama so I tuned out from everything - facebook and other sites - for a bit and really just enjoyed the quiet. So meditative to bring life down a notch and just enjoy the scrumptious and squooshy yarns and the… Continue reading Quiet time produces so much joy
Finishing the Hugo Poncho
The Hugo Poncho is finished! This became a bit monotonous, as any large knit might. Thanks fully I was able to trek on since the yarn was so buttery soft and I just love this color so much. A feat of love. It's a really great piece for my wardrobe. The winters aren't much here… Continue reading Finishing the Hugo Poncho
The Hugo Poncho
What a nice way to use up some old stash! Bought too much Malabrigo in 2008 - 'Bout time I get to it! Found the Hugo Poncho, which is a great FREE pattern, and knew I had to make it. It's the kind of project that makes for good TV knitting. I deviate to other… Continue reading The Hugo Poncho
Irish Chevron Scarf
Back in Summer 2013, we visited Ireland and I found some souvenir yarns. I wanted a project where I was able to use them all but living in Florida - a broiling Aran sweater doesn't make much sense. Settling on a free chevron scarf pattern by Claire Mitchell, I used my yardage counter and divided… Continue reading Irish Chevron Scarf
Autumn Leaves Baby Sweater
I've made this a few times - LOVE the pattern. Great baby gift. I found the fabric covered buttons on Etsy at HowBeadyful and they are the 1/2" ones. Too sweet. One is a baby gift, I have the others on reserve as stand-by baby gifts I guess. Like the 2 pink ones I've made… Continue reading Autumn Leaves Baby Sweater
French Cancan, CABLES!
LOVE cables and just about anything that has them. This pretty pattern was actually fun to make. About the time you're bored with the garter stitch body, the edging starts and it's kind of fun to do, so it went by faster than I expected. The yarn is acrylic Kraemer Yarns Perfection DK, so it's… Continue reading French Cancan, CABLES!
Dishcloths on a train
I decided to try taking the train 2 days a week to school. I save $20 a day doing this. I can knit/crochet all I like Saves on the wear and tear of my car I get less exhausted and frustrated by the traffic, bridges, school zones and trains. My first 2 days on the… Continue reading Dishcloths on a train
Well Dressed Whiskey
We were headed to a grown-up's birthday party, with whiskey in mind for our gift, but wanted to wrap it in a unique way. Found the Cable Knit Wine Cover and Scottish whiskey needs a sweater, in my opinion. The first try was an off-white one from Cascade 220 "Superwash" which felted. I like to… Continue reading Well Dressed Whiskey
